What do we do?

We invite speakers on a wide variety of subjects; (last year for example, these included The History of the Magistracy; Peace through Reconciliation and The Story of the Bayeux Tapestry). We research and have discussions to respond to requests for information on various topics. There is also an opportunity for women who are interested in serving on public bodies to seek advice.

Some members belong to BFWG national networks e.g. Womens Studies, The Environment, Complementary Medicine. The networks make informed representation on relevant matters.

Worcestershire is 'twinned' with the University Women's Group in Dijon and individual members have contacts for example in Armenia,Thailand, Estonia and New Zealand. Members have entertained a group of women graduates from Lithuania visiting Britain to improve their English. Each year a book prize is presented to the girl achieving the best GCSE results at a local school. We also raise money for charities, both local and overseas, and contribute to the BFWG Scholarship Fund.

There are two thriving Reading Groups, which meet to discuss modern literature, as well as a Theatre Group. .

Members are entitled to participate in all national and international events including an annual seminar at the House of Commons. At our various social events, friends and partners are welcome.

Why not join us?

We meet once a month in Members' homes and welcome graduate women and those with an equivalent professional qualification from institutions world wide. It is an opportunity to meet with women of varying ages, backgrounds and interests.
